Part 2 of Exponents

Defining exponents
An exponent is when you times a number by it self by a certain number of times. People used exponents because it saved them time in not writing all those zeroes.

Defining Square roots
Square roots are usually found between the numbers of 1-10. A square root is when you have a number times itself which equals another number. You cna work in the opposite direction trying to find the root number, too.

The square root of 25 is 5 since 5 x 5 = 25
6 x 6 = 36
6 = roots
36 = square

Cube root
A cube root is different then square root. Instead of multiplying a number by itself, you times the number three times.

Here are some examples
6 x 3 = 18
9 x 3 = 27
3 = cube
6, 9 = roots
